OCS Consulting makes new connections for the The Insurance Workplace (TIW) with an electronic document submission system
OCS Consulting, the trusted IT service partner, has recently completed the development of a new software module for the The Insurance Workplace collaboration tool. Already in use by the first customer, Tyser & Co. Limited, the Electronic Submission System delivers documents to the Xchanging's Insurance Market Repository (IMR) in support of the London Markets Accounting and Settlement initiative.
The InsuranceWorkplace (TIW) is a business services and software provider to the insurance and re-insurance sector. Part of the their portfolio is its leading document, project and process-centric collaboration system, The Insurance Workplace, which allows organisations to streamline their business processes. The addition of a new module was essential to support the electronic submission of documents to the IMR for Accounting and Settlement.
"OCS Consulting had a high degree of business and technical knowledge as well as being very responsive to our demanding requirements. Their project methodology and software development techniques were particularly strong too," said David Edwards, Chief Executive Officer, The Insurance Workplace. "Thanks to OCS Consulting, our new Electronic Submissions System is our first solution that enables documents to be submitted through ACORD standard document repository interoperability (DRI). It has since gone live with our first customer, Tyser & Co. Limited.
"As the London insurance market moves towards ever-greater levels of electronic working, the implementation of messaging technology and standards are providing significant challenges to many organisations. Through our well-tried project methodology, we successfully developed a new module to meet the TIW's exacting requirements, to time and budget to meet their customer needs," said OCS Group Chief Executive Maurice Aroesti.
"This project also builds on our extensive experience of electronic business in the London market which goes back to the days of EDI. With experience of both ACORD and POLARIS message standards and practical experience of technical implementation, OCS are uniquely placed to work with insurance companies in this area."
OCS Consulting undertook the development using Microsoft .NET to integrate The Insurance Workplace, Web Connectivity (an insurance web gateway), ACORD standards and Xchanging's Insurance Market Repository. Working in close collaboration with business process experts from Alphabet, Xchanging and Web Connectivity, the project was completed within three months. Used though a standard web browser, the Electronic Submission System is designed for London Market Brokers, Lloyds Managing Agents and International Underwriting Association companies.
